    Hey everyone,

I use wordpress on 6 installations. Both setups are identical (same hosting package by manitu.de). On one webserver the automatic updates work, on the other I get following message for every automatic update:
“automatic update scheduled in 15 years”
(original: “Automatische Aktualisierung geplant in 15 Jahren.”)

    What I tried:
    – deactivate all plugins
    – change ownership of files to webserver
    – trigger cron via web-interface of my hoster every minute

Tonight I got a server cron issue message:
cronjob wp-cron.php failed (took to long: 61 seconds). No other error code included.

It would be really great, if anybody could point me in the right direction. I found nothing to solve this bug online but maybe I looked in the wrong places?

    Thanks in advance!

    Nils

    Hi,

It looks like a general Cron issue on your website.
Try to check your Cron Tasks using WP-Crontrol plugin, to see if it’s a general issue on all the cron tasks of your website.

@audrasjb Thank you! There was a problem with some cronjobs dating to 2036. I fixed them and hope this already fixes my problem. Again, thank you very much!

@audrasjb: Thanks again, the manual resetting of my cronjobs fixed it!

For everyone coming here with the same problem and wanting to try this:

First I installed and activated the “WP-Control” from inside WordPress Plugin-Manager.

Opening “Tools” -> “Cron Events” (could be named slightly different)

There were some Events scheduled for 2036, so they were never executed. I manually edited every one of them (there is no bulk process) this way:
click edit -> “Next run” -> select “now” and save.

Then the event got executed and were back on track.

Hope this may help somebody ??
