Update gives blank admin screen

The newest plugin is not working with my site. I use the Gabfire Advanced Newspaper theme. Once updated, it no longer allows me to view my admin page, it is blank. I have gone ito the site with FTP and dis-abled the plugin and all works again. When re-enabled, the same issue arises.
