Update from wp 4.6.12 to wp 5

I have a web with wp platform, using theme smartline lite, currently on wp I already have orders to update to wp 5. My questions, later after I updated to wp 5, composition, shape, location of content, arrangegement of content still like the original while still using wp 4.6.12 or changed? If changed after the update to wp 5, what should I do? Thank
