Update from 3.3.1 to 3.4.0 breaks the link to podcast

  • Hello,

    I have recently updated from 3.3.1 to 3.4.0 on WordPress 6.5.3 (PHP 8.1).

    When I am on my podcast page with all podcast episodes and I click on one episode I always get a 404 error. All episodes are affected.

    Going back to 3.3.1 fixes the issue, so version 3.4.0 has problem with link to individual podcast episodes.

  • Just encountered this issue. I flushed the permalinks and it seems to have fixed it.

    However, I have been having endless problems with episode pages giving me a 404 error. Flushing permalinks fixes it temporarily, but minutes later we are back to 404.

    I am hoping that the plugin developer can suggest a more permanent solution? It’s happening too frequently now to continually be flushing permalinks.

    @zzo911 Please try to update permalinks as @kyliegarner suggested.

    This issue shouldn’t typically occur. It is likely a code conflict with other plugins or your theme, possibly due to a caching plugin. I recommend disabling other plugins one by one and checking if the issue persists. This way, we can identify the conflicting plugin.

    We are seeing this behavior as well, all episode links break and become 404 unexpectedly after the upgrade. We use autoptimize for caching.

    We didn’t change anything that changes the permalinks in 3.4.0, so I’m not sure what can be the reason of it. Did updating permalinks and flushing the cache fix it?
