    Hi,
I’m planning to build a site with multiple Layouts (Content/sidebar, Sidebar/content/sidebar etc) and will be using the Footer Widgets.
I will be adding (amongst other items) text widgets to the Footer Widgets and have the same text repeating on most layouts.
So, if I then want to update that repeating text info do I have to go into each text widget for each layout and edit all of them individually? Or, is there a way to update said text widget once, so that where it appears in any Footer Widget it is automatically updated?

I’m sorry if I’ve missed the info for this. I have looked but as it’s my first time to use GeneratePress I want to make sure that I start off properly…

    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hi Richard,

    Thanks for getting in touch!

All widgets in WordPress should be global by default.

If you add a text widget to Footer Widget 1, it will show in that widget area on every single page.

There are plugins out there that allow you to show or hide widgets on specific pages, but it sounds like you want the opposite, which should be the default behaviour.

    Let me know ??

    Thanks Tom,
Ah, I see, of course. A previous Theme framework I used to work with a lot behaved slightly differently so I was being a bit slow there….

    Many thanks.
