    I attempted to update Updraft Plus via my WP Dashboard > Updates this morning, and was left with this:

    Warning: require_once(/home/www/christinashaw.com/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/options.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/www/christinashaw.com/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/updraftplus.php on line 139

    Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/www/christinashaw.com/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/options.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5.3/lib//php') in /home/www/christinashaw.com/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/updraftplus.php on line 139

    And the inability to now access my WP Dashboard.

    Hi,

    When WordPress updates a plugin, it just downloads the new zip and unzips it into wp-content/plugins. The error message indicates that you have a file missing, so presumably WordPress had some sort of malfunction when doing so. You can recover from that by de-installing and then re-installing. If the same happens again, then likely you’re running out of web hosting account space – UpdraftPlus will need around 40Mb of space to install. If you’ve got plenty and it still happens, then the best thing to do would be to either ask your web host, or to install it manually by downloading the zip to your PC, unzipping, and then uploading via FTP.

    I was unable to access the WP Dashboard to be able to uninstall/reinstall. I had to access the files manually via FTP and delete the updraftplus directory from wp-content/plugins then upload the latest download. Seems to be working now.
