Update Failed: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy

    I cannot update wordfence. When I try to it gives me this error: Update Failed: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.

    I don’t know what this means or how to fix it. what are inconsistent file permissions? I have no idea what this means or how to fix it.

    Hi,

    WordPress shows this message, but it isn’t always due to file permissions. In this case, it is probably from Wordfence’s config cache.

    You can turn on “Disable config caching” near the bottom of the Wordfence options page and save the options.

    This may fix the issue, but if you still cannot update, you can manually remove the config cache file using FTP. The file is: wp-content/plugins/wordfence/tmp/configCache.php
