Update failed… now impossible to install

  • I installed the slideshow plugin a few days ago and spent a lot of time creating a 60 slide slideshow. It looked beautiful and it was exactly what I wanted. Today it stopped working. The WordPress plugins page said that there was an updated version of ‘slideshow’ so I clicked on the link. The update failed and now the plugin disappeared from the list. I had to get my host server to manually delete the folder since it said I was not authorized. I tried re-uploading and now the same thing happened again. The install failed. Now, I have to call my domain host to delete the folder AGAIN!. grrr… Please help!

    Is it just the slideshow plugin, or are there any more plugins that won’t update? Also, are there any errors shown on the page when you’re trying to install?

    It could also be that the update takes too long and the connection to the WordPress server is terminated. This could be caused by a slow connection.
