After the latest 7.4.1 > 7.4.2 update on one of my sites only, I get

Update Failed: Could not copy file. wordfence/lib/GeoLite2-Country.mmdb

Has anyone else had this issue and know of a fix?

    Thanks.

  • Hey @dlwnz,

Can you please try manually resetting Wordfence and let me know if it helps?

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Hi Gerroald,

    Thanks for your help.

I did enable ‘Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation’ > Deactivated > Logged out & back in > Reactivated – tried this a couple of times but no change – I still get the same error.

I also cleared and deactivated WP Super Cache but same result.

All my other sites updated ok, it’s just this one. Do you know of anything else I might try? The hosting for this site is modern but different from all my other sites.

    Thanks, David

    Hey @dlwnz,

    Thanks for the update.

Can you please ask your host if they see any reasons the file creation is being blocked? It could be a permissions issue, or a security rule that’s in place.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

    Hi again Gerroald,

I’m embarrassed to report that my site was bumping up against disk quota… once that was increased the plugin update worked.

Thanks for your help, all good now!

    Regards,
    David

    Hey @dlwnz,

Thanks for the update, and happy to hear it. No embarrassment is needed, I’m just happy to hear it was an easy fix. Also, I’ll keep this in mind as it may help others.

Please let us know if anything else comes up.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald
