• Mass failure of UpdraftPlus plugins today,
occurring on 4 different web hosts I’ve tested so far—so not a hosting issue.

Attempts to update Version 1.14.7 to latest version fails with error:
    Update Failed: Download failed.

    Hi Jim,

Plugin updates are entirely handled by WordPress core (unless you’re using some other tool to perform them). What it does is download the zip from www.remarpro.com, unzip it, and move it into place. The plugin itself isn’t involved. If you’re using WordPress to perform the update, then I guess that their download server (download.www.remarpro.com) was having a problem.

    Hi Jim,

I’m not sure what sort of help you believe I can give you? As I say, plugin updates are handled entirely by WordPress core, downloading from the server download.www.remarpro.com. Plugins themselves have zero input into that process, and zero input into the administration (or building of the plugin zip) on download.www.remarpro.com. It is quite odd that only you have this problem, though. What happens if you try a clean browser (private tab, no extensions)/connection, to eliminate the commonality in what you’re trying?

    Hi Jim,

We just seem to be talking past each other?

I suppose that it’s possible that the www.remarpro.com download server in your part of the world has a problem. UpdraftPlus is larger than most plugins because of all the SDKs for different cloud services, and translation packs, that it has to bundle. So, if you report it in the right place, you might get some insight into what’s going on. But as I say… plugin authors have zero access, or control, over www.remarpro.com download servers, so you’re in the wrong place.

    David
