For past several days I’ve been running into “Update Failed: Download failed.” when attempting to update UpdraftPlus.

    Anyone else seeing this behavior?

    Hi Jim,

There was a withdrawn release (1.14.6), which had a significant bug in it. i.e. We deleted it from www.remarpro.com SVN so that nobody could download it. So, almost certainly, your WP install is for some reason failing to make a fresh updates check back to www.remarpro.com, and as a result, is still trying to download the non-existent release. Visit your ‘Updates’ page to force a fresh updates check.

    Ouch!
…so now I have to do that on my 400+ websites one by one…

Thank you for the weekend bonus!

Instead of creating all this drama for yourselves and 1 gazilion UpdraftPlus installs, why don’t you just duplicate the 1.14.7 version as 1.14.6?

I imagine the www.remarpro.com Gods might be agreeable to this given the amount of pain it may be causing for thousands.

    Hi,

WordPress automatically performs a new update check every 24 hours. The release was only out about an hour. So, a) you’d only be expected to see it on 1 of every 24 sites, and b) everybody’s sites will have done a new updates check by now anyway, since more than 24 hours have passed. And if you visit the “Updates” page, it causes a fresh updates check anyway.

I don’t think it can be causing that much pain – you’re the only person in any of our support channels that I’ve seen that’s had a problem.
