Update failed could not remove the old plugin
The plugin prompts me to update, but clicking update causes the plugin to crash deinstalling the current one and leaving me with nothing losing the work I’d done setting up roles. This is the third time this has happened to me.

Admittedly I’m still on WP 5.4 as I’m following a course which is 2 years old hence I want to keep the menus the same as the tutors.

Okay seems to be sorted. The problem was Git version control was interferring with the plugin updating. Since setting git version control to only monitor the theme folder rather than ‘public’ it’s been working.
