    Hello @stevenmaas

Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to help!
This is related to the WP version and your WP update and how the server handles the installation and folder permsissions

Try to create the folder yourself. Make sure you set the permissions (775) and also folder ownership correctly!

The correct location for the folder is at?/wp-content/upgrade-temp-backup

Let me know if this helps!

    Thanks!

I am getting the same error when trying to upgrade for the past few versions. I was able to deactivate the W3 plugin then upgrade the plugin. Now I cannot deactivate it either.

Update failed: Could not move the old version to the upgrade-temp-backup directory.

W3 Total Cache Error:?some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove?/var/www/vhosts/abc.com/httpdocs/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.
