Update failed, Blank site

I recently tried to update WP and it failed the upload, For the life of me I cant seem to find the .maintenance file anywhere. I use filezilla and did a remote server search which came up with nothing. Where Do i find this file? Thanks in advanced for any help! Its appreciated ??
