    Continuous update fails for 8.9.3!

New message: Update failed: The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Invalid archive structure, Download failed. Not Found

What is going on with this update? Never had issues before! Would really appreciate some help please.

  • Hey there, @tjbear52! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

You mind telling us how are you updating?
Have you just clicked on “update” on the plugin/update section or are you updating it manually?

Can you please try deactivating and removing WooCommerce (don’t worry, you won’t lose any data). And then downloading it again to see if the issue persists?

Be sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. You can ask your host for backup functionality or you can consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, you will be able to restore it.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi

I’ve tried clicking on “update” and redownloading the woocommerce file to install and the “Could not copy file” error persists. I’m not able to delete/deactivate woocommerce it isn’t allowing me to do that.

Today’s error message is: Could not copy file. woocommerce/assets/images/pattern-placeholders/road-sport-vintage-wheel-retro-old.jpg

    Hi @tjbear52

Here is the mentioned placeholder file:

This sounds like a file/folder permission issue at the server/WordPress level. Did you already have a chance to reach out to the site’s hosting provider about this, or otherwise?

I hope this is helpful! We look forward to your response. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Hi ?? We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
