• Hello,

I’m using the version 4.212 of Events Manager and would like to update it to the lastest version. I had modified some template files, without copying to my theme folder previously.
I just did it, reading the using template files documentation. However, in this documentation, I didn’t understand the last two sentences:

Bear in mind that once you’ve found what you want to modify you should delete the other files. This is because any future updates made to these other areas of the plugin won’t make it to your modified theme anymore.

Does that mean I have to delete the templates files in /www/wp-content/plugins/events-manager/templates? Only the ones I have modified?

Also, I have modified some CSS in /www/wp-content/plugins/events-manager/includes/css as well as some other files. Are they going to be overridden during the update? I guess not but I can never be too careful. Is there anything else I should know before updating?

    Thank you for your time!

  • Hi,

    1. It means that you only need to copy the template files that you want to customize and no need to copy everything to your theme.

    2. If you modify files inside EM, then you need to backup that because during update it might be overwritten.

Ok thank you, I updated after having backed-up my files and put the customized templates files in my theme’s /plugins/events-manager/templates/ folder.
However, this folder doesn’t seem to be taken into account, as the changes i made have disappeared during the update. It isn’t really a problem, I can still re-upload my customized files in the www/plugins/events-manager folder, but I’m wondering what i did wrong. Don’t worry about it, I’ll try to find by myself

    Thanks

you may want to remove the templates bit, if you have another template folder within it
