    Meta Info
WordPress: 4.9.9 (this problem began long before WP 5 was even released, so it’s not related to that)
Easy FancyBox (before attempting update): 1.8.10

**Note: I have not yet updated to WP 5 because I’ve seen many reviews saying it was glitchy with some plugins, including Elementor, which I use. So, I’m waiting till after the new year when, hopefully, some bugs are worked out.

    Problem
When trying to upgrade EFB, along with two other plugins (WP-Optimize and Google Analytics by Monster Insights), I get a very long error message. However, it seems the update goes through. When I updated other plugins, such as Elementor, WooCommerce, etc., I did not receive these errors; it only happens with these three plugins.

To update, I go to my plugins page, filter it by ones with updates available, and then update each one individually by clicking “update now.” It seems to process the update, but spits out this very long error message (I took a screen shot of it). However, after attempting all three, and getting error messages for each, I refreshed the page, and it took me to the full list of all plugins. This time, though, it seems the update went through.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

  • Hi, I’ve never seen this before but it looks like WordPress encounters on a 404 page generated by itself at some point during the update process. Maybe related to the No Self Pings plugin?

I hadn’t thought of that one. Next time any of those three plugins release updates, I’ll try disabling the No Self Pings.
