update error

    I tried upgrading the wordfence plugin, this is the error I get “Update failed: The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature”.

    I have tried to manually update it, yet does gives same error.

    Kindly assist on this issue

    Hi @cioclub, thanks for reaching out.

    If you’re updating Wordfence through WordPress itself (and not uploading your own copy of a plugin zip file) this error is thrown when there is either not enough space on your server to unzip and install, or a plugin/script is preventing the update.

    I would first try the update with define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', false ); set in your wp-config.php, but if that doesn’t work, contact your host or server administrator to see if an issue with space or memory might be a factor.
