    Hello ?? Great plugin.

After I finish the styling, and click on update, I get this message “The link you followed has expired. Please try again.”

So can’t update the changes I’ve made.

    Can you help?

    Thanks

I get this message “The link you followed has expired. Please try again.”

this happens when your security key has expired. WordPress uses security keys called nonce to ensure the page being submitted (saving our form) is the same origin as the from which the request was made. If this is the case simply reload the page.

This can happen either because you logged out of your site (on another page) and logged in again before returning to complete your form editing, or because there is an error in the installation of the salt keys. Please see this link to ensure your keys are setup properly.

    Hi Aurovatra.
I installed salt keys plugin, made the proper setup and tried again.
Unfortunately this continues to happen ??

    I installed salt keys plugin

the salt keys isn’t a plugin, it’s a configuration in your wp-config.php file

    Oh, I’m sorry.
    I instaled Salt Shaker.

On the same page you sent as a link, there’s this plugin that I tought would do the same thing. That’s why I installed it.

    no worries ??

ah, I see. Don’t use the plugin, follow the instructions in the first half of the article. Plugins are good when they serve a function which does not exist in the std WordPress installation, else they are a burden on the website.

Is you website on a public server?

Another reason why you might get this error is related to the memory allocation for your website. Please see this tutorial in ensuring you have enough resources allocated for your website.

but still get the same message.

did you see my last post on ensuring your setup has enough resources?

    (@ptweet)

Yes. I have 20mb of upload.

    (@aurovrata)

    I have 20mb of upload.

I don’t understand what that means.

    Thread Starter ptweet

    (@ptweet)

Meaning that in the link you provided (https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-link-you-followed-has-expired-error-in-wordpress/), they talk about the size uploads. That’s why I said that.

    Plugin Author Aurovrata Venet

    (@aurovrata)

there are 3 resources that need to be configured. 2 of them are related to uploads, one to process time out.

Please confirm clearly what you have set. simply saying my upload is 20mb isn’t clear.

Please note that your issue is unrelated to the plugin malfunction, it is related to your setup, and therefore you should be seeking help in teh WordPress general forums. I am making an effort to help you, the least you can do is follow the instructions and make an effort to clearly report what you have done.
