Update deleted everything and no longer works

  • So yesterday I got the update link for YOP and I updated the plug in as requested. Come to find out it deleted ALL the previous POLLs that I needed/used to create our year-end lists. Hundreds of hours of lost work (and lost votes) and effort. Making matters worse, I just wasted two more hours trying to redo my latest poll which was humiliatingly enough deleted, and the NEW update will not save ANY polls. I cannot express the frustration and rage I am feeling right now for what your previously buggy but effective plugin update has now cost me and my magazine, including the hit to our credibility. YOP has destroyed our year-end articles which accounts for roughly half of all our annual hits. Of course now it doesn’t work at all. Nice update. To think I almost donated, now you’ve cost me more than I can calculate.

  • yikes! Can’t you just re install from your back-up until it’s fixed?

    Same thing happened to me. Waiting for YOP support to fix it. I emailed them two days ago and still waiting… ?? Im now using WP POll instead

    We have tested the migration script on several server configurations until we were sure it’s safe to be released.
    But we are aware that there will still be issues with some configurations.

    That is why the migration script won’t delete any of your data during the process.

    In your case, I think it would be best to downgrade to version 4.9.3. Your data is on your server. Just needs version 4.9.3 to process it.
