If you’re interested, I was able to get this plugin up and running until an official update is released. However, I had to modify the plugin code a bit – a practice I usually condemn…
In the plugin’s lib/class.plugify-gform-braintree.php file, in line #64 I replaced:

protected function authorize
to
public function authorize

I am hoping you don’t restrict the plugin to your more premium users.

I have only a personal license and will be priced out if it goes only to the higher level users like the other payment gateway plugins.

But if you are keeping it in here as a free plugin, I am very excited!

I am currently using the plugin for a fundraiser to go to India and do some development work there.

I hope it doesn’t break before you get the update out. ??

@thirstyjon TLS 1.0 and 1.1 has to do with your server’s configuration and the SSL certificate you have. The Braintree dashboard announcement shouldn’t require a change to the plugin just adjustments to the server configuration by your hosting company.
