I can’t be 100% certain, but it seems something in 4.19 made it where I could not ‘update’ changes to a User capabilities. I say this because once I reverted back to 4.18, everything worked fine again.

In 4.19, whenever I attempted to make changes and click ‘Update’ nothing would happen. No dialogue box to confirm permission changes, nothing. Tried with multiple themes, and even without other plugins active.

Interestingly, other buttons such as Select All or Reverse applied when clicked, it was just the Update button would not process.

I have a lot of plugins active on the site, but even with the exact same theme/plugin configuration, 4.18 works fine where 4.19 does not.

Again, I can’t be 100% certain, but just thought I would make mention in case you could replicate or anyone else was having similar problems.

    Thanks.

I can not reproduce. It’s interesting that JavaScript part responsible for the work of “Update” button was not changed between versions 4.18 and 4.19 (use rename folder for 4.18 for example).

If that possible I’m ready to look on the issue on-line. Install both versions, 4.18 and 4.19. Send admin login credentials to support [at-sign] role-editor.com

    Hello,

I just read this post. I am using WP ver. 4.3.1 and facing the same problem. Since its the latest version, I don’t wanna try it with another (older) one because I am afraid of loosing my data. Can I have any solution to above mentioned problem? Thanks

    BR,
    Fahad

    Hello Fahad,

The data format was not changed between versions 4.18 and 4.19.
I may to look on the issue on-line, even if you will have only v. 4.19 installed.

I just wanted to circle back on this. I’ve continued to test this, and now with URE 4.20.1 in place, I no longer have this issue.

Again, I can’t say it was a URE issue, it could have been a conflict with another plugin that we have since updated too.

I really appreciate your plugin. Thank you for your efforts.

    Thanks for the feedback.
Could it be related to the issue discussed at this thread?

The possibility of such issue was excluded at development version 4.21 which release is near.

Not sure. Our site was not part of a multi-site, but the issue was happening in Chrome. I have updated the plugin on both the sandbox and live sites now and so far so good.

    Thanks again.

I am facing this issue as well. I am using WP version 4.3 and URE 4.21.

I just unchecked the ‘Confirm role update’ checkbox under General tab and it worked.

    Thanks for sharing.
If you clicked the browser’s checkbox ‘Prevent this page from creating additional dialogs’ when you saw ‘confirm’ dialog 1st time, it was a reason of a problem.
