When i clicked to update the plugin, it gave me some fatal error and completely locked me out of the admin panel.
I then ftp to delete the multi-rating folder and uploaded my last back up which resolved the error.
This time i first deactivated and then updated multi-rating plugin (now the admin panel is accessible) which resulted with the following displayed at the top of the wp plugins management section:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Warning: require(/home/yoursite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/multi-rating/includes/admin/rating-entries.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/yoursite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/multi-rating/multi-rating.php on line 252

Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required ‘/home/yoursite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/multi-rating/includes/admin/rating-entries.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/yoursite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/multi-rating/multi-rating.php on line 252

  • this plugin update crushed my multisite network.
local test show the same path as mentioned above

Exact same thing happened to me too.
Killed the site, had to ftp to fix it.

Now the rating system doesn’t work.
Trying to back peddle to the old version from Github right now.

    Any updates on a fix?

    I’m extremely sorry about this.

A new file in version 4.2 missed the SVN commit.

A fix is available now in v4.2.1.
