• The update which made every single page form into a multi page form (which was an attempt to have users buy the gold version) broke every form on my site. The fields disappeared from the admin interface and the short codes created php errors.

This was fixed by de-activating and re-activating the plugin.

Due to every form being automatically changed to a multipage form, any custom CSS which was based on the previous structure was overwritten with the plugin’s ugly styling.

Also a very poor and bizarre hover interaction was added to fields with notes, I had to override these fields with CSS.

Development companies that take money from people should know better than to break something to try and force up-selling on their users, or at the very least offer a rollback to a previous version – not 2.5 which is who knows how old.

All things considered I should have known this plugin and the people behind it don’t believe in good quality due to their bizarre and clunky admin interface.

    Don’t waste your time.

    Hello Vehemoth,

This was a major update and unfortunately you experienced an issue that affected a small percentage of users. This was proactively fixed within few hours of the release. It affected 2 other users who worked directly with us on our helpdesk and it was fixed by our team even before the maintenance release.

The version was under test for over a week and we are sad that this slipped past. But all being said, I want to strongly convey that up-selling is first and foremost to keep the development going. And it directly or in-directly benefits the standard (free) edition since we make it a point to keep adding new features to it with new releases. In fact, this release was dedicated to free edition as all the major features added (like the new front end, visual form editor etc.) went to free edition. We could have easily skipped adding new features and kept you happy. But a large majority of users support the more innovative and ambitious path. And we have to serve them as well. We do understand that with ambitious releases like these, there are bound to be hiccups. We are committed to solve them asap instead of stopping the progress altogether.

Adding innovation and breaking conformity will always upset more than a few. But make no mistakes, your negative review will definitely hurt us. A lot of users shall heed your warning. This may even slow down the development and indirectly affect lot of others who use RegistrationMagic day in and out on their sites. To that end, a response to the review hardly catches anyone’s attention or changes their mind.

But to us, it is important to be open about how strongly we feel for every word our users say to us and how serious we are about RegistrationMagic. And to break the autocratic image of developers your tried to paint, while nothing can be farther from the truth. We are artists and our work can sometimes make use of the faculty of imagination. Bizarreness is offspring of this little exercise which can turn into beautiful shapes when time comes. Rest assured it is intentional and we have plans for it.

All of your suggestions have been taken in for the next release. Older incremental releases have been made available for download. Help Text animations are being reworked for a more cohesive feel. Unfortunately, We cannot change the interface because we chose to be different from the very beginning. As I said, we have huge plans for it in coming days as it will start using the groundwork it created by not conforming to preset conditions. Plus we have only received appreciation for it so far. As feedback keeps coming in we will keep making improvements.

Lastly, we wish to thank you for taking our time to review our plugin. Nothing will make us more happy than to see you revisiting RegistrationMagic in near future. Meanwhile, we are hard at work to make this, and other beautiful things possible.

    Regards,
    RegistrationMagic Team.
