    hi,

When I want to update a PDF document from your plugin, I have to delete the one and then reload the new PDF file. There is no “Update” button. Moreover after having reloaded this document, this one adds in front of the name of the file “1678093367wpdm_”.
    How to rename it correctly?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Hello @bicounet

Thank you for writing to us.

The update button is working fine in our test environment.

On your site there can be a conflict with another plugin, can you please enable/disable other plugins for checking, you may also switch the theme to another for checking, please let me know then.

Also, to rename the filename please have a look at this: https://www.loom.com/share/0eb0c7ee14f741bb8619a67d7fdf6b8b

However, in the WPDM Pro there are two option to make the renaming easier. Please have a look at this: https://prnt.sc/JEUuKLnLzE6u

    hi,
All other plugins are disabled. Theme used by default “Twenty Twenty-Three” I don’t see an “Update” button in the “Attach file” window.
    See screenshot attached :

    Hi,
Yes, of course, this “Update” button is active. This allows the updating of information concerning the PDF file.
But how to update only the PDF file that evolves and changes over time; while retaining the original file name?
    Regards.

    Hi @bicounet

Unfortunately, as of now there is no separate button to update the PDF file only and we may add this in a future release.

    Hi,
Or also, do not create a new file with the prefix 1678093367wpdm_

    Hello @bicounet

Have you tried this option: https://prnt.sc/Wdw6S8i5d7L3

Also, We already have the file overwrite option in the Pro version: https://prnt.sc/JEUuKLnLzE6u

    Hi,
The option “Mask download link” in “File Donwload” is checked.
    ———-
I just tested another solution to update a PDF document: From the “Attach a file” tab: delete the current file, then reload the new file. We get the same result. The file name has a prefix like 1678279530wpdm_.
Physically, the file is not destroyed on the site. It only deletes the information in the database.
So I have to go to the “Resource Manager” to delete the old file before uploading the new version of the PDF.
Can you include a “physically delete document” option when deleting a document?

File overwrite option is available with WPDM PRO:
