After updating to Wordfence 6.3.14 yesterday our website had an internal server error 500 and I’ve had to remove it? We’re premium members and need our security restored to our site as a matter of urgency.

Please advise as to how to rectify or how to roll back to the previous version?

Thank you. I have opened a ticket and our issue will hopefully get resolved quickly.

Strangely enough our site went down with 500 internal server errors after the update and after a few hours I worked out it was wordfence causing it, have removed it completely and site is now running happily again, tried re-installing from fresh and site has gone down again, so unfortunately it looks like we can no longer use it on our site.

I copied the wordfence folder from the wordpress plugin directory to a local drive as a backup and then deleted the original folder using FTP. Our site was up and running again without it. NB: this was the only plugin I deleted.

I then copied the wordfence folder back from our local drive and it’s still working! Not sure what, if anything, has changed but we’re okay at the moment.

    Hi icomputeuk,
I’m glad you managed to resolve this issue, as bluebearmedia mentioned, we do provide support here in the forums for the free version of the plugin, if you are running the premium version, we will happily reply to your ticket opened via this link.

@c9craig You will have to check the server error log files to get more information about this “500 internal server error”.

Let me know how it goes,
    Thanks.
