    Hey Guys,

I really need your help. I updated the WooCommerce plugin and I got an error by the server: 500. This locked me out of the wohle site.

After renaming the wp plugin-in folder via ftp I was able to lock back in to my wp-backend. By changing the renamed folder back to wp-plugin I wanted to reactivate each plugin to see where the 500 error came from.

BUT: WooCommerce does no longer exist. I can see the folder via ftp but not in the WP backend. How can I reinstall it without loosing all the data, settings and products?

    I really need your help.

    Best regards from Germany,

    Hi @iromek!

I would recommend making a backup of your site and then overriding the current core WooCommerce plugin in the wp-content/plugins folder, manually, as per the steps here:

    https://kinsta.com/knowledgebase/manually-update-wordpress-plugin/#ftp

Then, disable all your plugins and enable WooCommerce core first followed by your other plugins, one by one, until it breaks again.

You can read more about conflict testing here:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

Also, please take a closer look at the fatal-error log found in “WooCommerce > Status > Logs” as it should tell you where the issue is coming from. You are welcome to paste that log data to a gist and link us to it so we can take a closer look.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Cheers!

    Hey Rynald0s,

thank you for your quick answer. I followed the steps and was able to reactivate WooCommerce with no loss of data.

I found this little script causing an Error and my hosting firm told me this is a mistake by WooCommerce. It gets status: canceled after 5.00 s.

    ?wc-ajax=get_refreshed_fragments

I am not sure why, but the front and backend takes loading times up to 12 seconds from one day by another. Chrome Network testing tells me 9s TTFB. Well the hoster tells me, caused by this script and the “Logs” tell me: PayPal Plus Error:

    2020-11-08T08:31:47+00:00 INFO POST https://api.paypal.com/v1/oauth2/token
    2020-11-08T08:31:47+00:00 INFO Response Status : 200

    2020-11-08T09:22:50+00:00 INFO Response Status : 201

One more thing. When I logged in and WooCommerce was disabled, the backend worked like before in case of loading time. The hosting firm ist Strato.

    Hope you can help me,

    Thank you very much!

    Hi there,

From what I understand, the errors are caused by the logs coming from PayPal Plus. I encourage you to reach out to their support area for more details:

    Warm regards,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
