I backup up my files and DB and then proceeded to hit update now.

It did a bunch of things and then showed me a page about wordpress 3.9

when I get back to main desktop page, it still says I need to update to 3.9.1

Any clues on why is that?

Previous updates worked fine. Also installing plug-ins and updating them worked well too.

Am I doing something wrong or is there something “broken” with the auto-update?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Same issue, both on my localhost and production servers,
    – Shows the alert “please update to 3.9.1”
    – I do the update proceses and everthing seems to go perfect.
    – i keep getting the “update to 3.9.1” alert

    Have you tried:

    – switching to the default theme.

resetting the plugins folder by PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade again

Hi, swotching to the default theme, update, and then back to my theme does the trick, thanks so much esmi

Glad to hear that this has been sorted for you. ??
