    Hi!

    Using WP 4.9.8

Tried to upgrade from version 3.0.14 to 3.1.1. but no success.
The process stalls, nothing gets changed. WP stays in maintenance mode, so I have to manually delete the .maintenance file.

Install from file not possible, “directory alredy exists”.

Would it be possible to rename the plugin directory and install via file upload? If so, what about the existing events? Does the install process kill the database, thus deleting all event data?

    Please advise.

    Regards,
    Alex

I don’t recommend renaming the plugin directory; you would end up with two installations of My Calendar, which would be confusing. However, you can delete the plugin and reinstall. Deleting the plugin will only delete events if you have the option to delete tables checked in settings.

    Thanks!

Although I did not dare to delete the plugin – because of the warning message that “all corresponding data will be lost (*)” despite the fact that I had “Drop MySQL tables on uninstall” UNCHECKED – simply deactivating the plugin did the trick.

Thanks for that super flexible plugin!

    Best regards,
    Alex

(*) or something like that, I am on german laguage and can’t remember the exact wording

That’s a default WordPress warning on uninstalling any plug-in; any specific directions in a plug-in should override this. WordPress generally doesn’t actually *know* whether or not a plug-in is deleting its information, so they warn you as a precaution.
