• Hello people,

I have searched many places but not really found the clear-cut answer i am after.

Basically…. I have one site (www.TDISport.com) now when I update this (add new posts) I would like the posts to also display on https://www.dieselownersclub.co.uk, is this possible? How can i go about doing this?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Aaron

  • If you want the 2 sites to share exactly the same content, amend the wp-config.php file for dieselownersclub.co.uk to use the same database as TDISport.com.

If you just want some of the posts from TDISport.com to appear on the other site, use the RSS feed from TDISport.com to display posts on dieselownersclub.co.uk.

    Thanks for your response esmi.
I would like all the posts to be shown on the dieselownersclub site but keep it’s existing template and links etc, so it sounds like an RSS feed is the way to go.

How do I go about getting/using the RSS feed?

I have a similar question. I want multiple subdomains for a single site. It will be an ecommerce site where each subdomain will have the same content except for the subdomain added to address in address bar will need to be seen for every page and I would like to have one image/logo that will be different for each subdomain. Other that that they will be the same.

would it be possible to share the same data base and still have a custom.css file for each subdomain?

I tried to change the wp-config.php but when I click on a new page, the subdomain name disappears from the address bar and I would like it to stay throughout the site.

    I hope this make sense.

Hello. I have a theme, and with CSS have created 2 blog templates for multiple blogs with information. However, when I go to write a new post, it goes to the same blog, which is not the purpose. I wanted to have 2 separate blogs, but in one site. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I doubt if that is possible. The primary reason why I say so is because wordpress stores all the permalinks in the database. If you have a post with permalinks https://www.example.com/2010/08/post1, then you cannot have a 2nd blog which has a different URL to show the same post.

A manual way of doing this would be to copy the database over and then changing the permalinks for all the posts. It would have been more convenient if wordpress stored relative links as well… but then I wonder how search engines would be crawling through the posts!

Anyways, I’m trying to do something similar. I don’t want to create exact replicas, but I do want some overlap in the posts that I publish on one blog to appear on the other and vice versa..
A checkbox plugin which lists the 2 blogs and in the backend stores data accordingly would help.. but it might get very complex as its not just posts.. we have tags, categories, comments and lots more!

A simple example of post sharing can been seen in gizmodo and lifehacker (and all their other blogs). I wonder if they simply copy and paste things or is there an automated way of doing such things.
