I’ve always enjoyed Dynamic Widgets a lot. However since the latest WP update when I go to a widget, it doesn’t show a text area (in case of a text widget). What can I do?

    Thanks!

It doesn’t seem to be about Dynamic Widgets; I deactivated all plugins. Didn’t work. I also switched back the the default theme (twenty sixteen). Didn’t work either so now it’s back to the child theme. I haven’t encountered this problem before. Does anybody know what to do..?

This can’t be a Dynamic Widgets issue anyway. Dynamic Widgets does not alter the contents of a widget. It only shows or hides a widget based on the rules you set.

@tim983, it sounds like you’ve been hit by the bug caused by the latest update to WP. To fix it, install Ye Olde Text Widget from here: https://github.com/gitlost/ye-olde-text-widget

That will get you back what you had before.

@qurl @kts915 thanks for your reaction.

Turns out it was ‘disable accessibility mode’ in screen options. I’d reinstalled WP twice, for some inexplicable reason this was turned off without my interference. I saw it a few times, trying to work this out, but I couldn’t believe it wa that, ha ha. But it’s solved now. ??
