UpdarftPlus Version: 1.11.12 won't authenticate with Google Drive

    After entering my Client ID for Web application and Client secret of Google API, then UpdraftPlus requires to authenticate.

    When using the link, I get correctly directed to the Google confirmation page which displays that my project wants to “View and manage the files in your Google Drive”. When I click on ‘Allow’, I get directed back to my WordPress site, but the UpdraftPlus status shows error:

    “Bad response when contacting Google: Couldn\’t resolve host \’accounts.google.com\’.”

    A test-run of a backup shows in the backup-logfile following message:

    “Google Drive: this account is not authorised”

    I did not have this issue with previous release.

    Hi,

    This sounds like a problem with DNS. Something is either blocking the connection to accounts.google.com, or the server is not able to find it.

    Ask your hosting provider to check if there is an issue with the DNS server or firewall on the server.
