UP doesnt backup because wrong "last log-message"

    heyhey,

    something is wrong.
    i want to backup to my ftp server and this is succesfully tested.
    but my “last log message” show me the following:

    Failed to open log file (/www/htdocs/w0100a71/MAIN_TL/wp-content/updraft/log.ad4d8616b308.txt) - you need to check your UpdraftPlus settings (your chosen directory for creating files in is not writable, or you ran out of disk space). Backup aborted. (Apr 21 01:08:11)

    what′s going wrong?

    i really need a solution pls.

    Hi coolicious,

    The error message says: “/www/htdocs/w0100a71/MAIN_TL/wp-content/updraft/log.ad4d8616b308.txt) – you need to check your UpdraftPlus settings (your chosen directory for creating files in is not writable, or you ran out of disk space)”.

    You need to check that the indicated directory is writable on your web server, and that your web hosting account has not run out of disk space. Those are both things that your web hosting company can help with if you’re not sure how to do yourself.

    hey david,
    i have the chmod on my directory on 755…it isn’t right? that on my space i have many many free space and this cant be the reason for this error :/

    If 755 is not working then try 775. If that does not work then try 777.

    If the settings are correct i can do backup immediately or? because i can’t do it…it is still grey :/

    If you now have a writable settings directory, then reload the settings page.

    If it’s still saying that the directory is not writable, then the directory really isn’t writable. UpdraftPlus just uses PHP’s is_writable(directory) function here. To find out why it’s not writable, you should liase with your web hosting company.
