Unwanted unsubscriptions during woocommerce checkout

    Hi everybody!

    Woocommerce customers can opt-in for my Newsletter at checkout.
    Unfortunately an existing subscriber will accidentally unsubscribe, when she does not tick the checkbox AGAIN – which she usually wouldn’t.

    Does anyone has an idea how to solve this?

    Hi there @rainerberlin,

    This is discussed in this forum thread:

    In summary, if existing subscribers are logged in during checkout, then the opt-in checkbox should be pre-checked, and they should not need to manually check it again.

    However, if they are logged out, then the Checkout page would not know to pre-check the checkbox. In that case, if they don’t opt-in, then they are essentially opting out and will be unsubscribed. Checkbox unchecked == opting out from receiving emails.
