I just changed the themes on two of my websites. On one of my website I have something weird going on.
Whenever I write a post, the post comes up online with a thumbnail and text to a page site of mine.
This must be a preset at someplace, but I can’t find out where. Can somebody please help?

the wrong page is the link to on the bottom.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi.
If you are referring to the section beginning with “Fotoreise: 8.-23. M?rz 2013”, it the <div> containing it has the class after-post-ad assigned to it. It seems you created an ad to be placed at the end of your content. Try to look inside the options of any plugins you might have installed recently, or in your own theme settings.
It could also be coming from your single post template (most likely stored in a file called single.php).
    Cheers!

    Thanks Marventus,
you are right about the section. And it does look like an after-post ad. What worries me is to look for something I am not aware of putting there the first place.
I did not download any new plugins. I did make some plugin updates though.
If I find the single post template what am I looking out for?
    Thanks

OK, I did compare my single.php from two websites with the same theme. They look exactly the same. One websitte though is giving me the after post ad, the other one does not. So I guess I have to look someplace else.
So the only other option is a plugin?
Are there nowhere else more settings for posts? I even consider to remove that one page which shows up in the post’s. But I worry it will only pull another page…any more ideas out there?
    Thanks

In a scan of your site I find:

    //https://data.flipkey.com/widgets/jsapi/38656/38879/342886/

as a link – If you did not add a plugin that includes this content, contact your web host right away.

    Hi Seacoast Web Design,
I actually did add that widget myself a while back. But not as a plugin?
In the meantime I went through all my plugins. deactivated them to find out if they might have done the after post ad. No luck. I just deleted the flipkey link for good measure, nothing changed.
Thanks for trying to help me.

I find this reply in err.

    Hello again,
I’m gonna need to look at two of your theme files’ code: functions.php and single.php. Could you create separate Pastebins for those and share the links here?
Also, if you have any custom-functions.php or user-functions.php` files in your theme root, share a Pastebin to those as well.
    Thanks.

Wait, actually, I just took another look at your code, and this ad seems to be generated by a widget.
Did you try going into your Admin Panel –> Appearance –> Widgets and checking to see if you have any widgets added to the bottom of your posts?

    You are a genius!!!!
I was hoping it has to be some simple setting. I was not even aware I was able to do that. Yes, my new theme has a widget for After Post Ad, and apparently one of my “moves” slipped there.
Thank you so very much. You are great.
    Best.

Great to hear you were able to figure this out.
Don’t forget to mark the thread as resolved (right hand side of the page, “This topic is” drop-down box).
    Thanks!
