I am baffled as to why additional items (i.e. “Applied Transaltions”, twice – are appearing in the menu I have created.

How do I remove them, please?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @androidandreas,

Looking at your menu – it makes it look like your site actually has two pages within it that have the same title. Both are names’ Applied Translations’ but they are separate pages:

If you go to ‘Pages’ in your main admin menu – you should be able to see them both there and decide which you want to keep, or rename them as needed.

Ah yes, thankyou for pointing this out – now rectified.

However, I still do not understand why a menu is appearing along the top right of the page, when I thought I had deleted all menus.

At the moment I just want the page entitled “Welcome” to show, until I have finished building the site. How can I get rid of this menu, please?

Hi @androidandreas – it looks like you have a ‘Page List’ inserted in the page – which will be listing all pages in the site.

If you open the Site Editor (Appearance > Editor) and then click on the preview to edit your page – you’ll be able to click in the header, then the Navigation block to edit it.

You can delete the ‘Page List’ block – and then simply add the ‘Welcome’ page singularly to that Navigation to have it be the only one displaying.

I am getting an error message saying: “You do not have permission to edit this page. Changes will not be saved”.

Could this be because the site is hosted on a friend’s server?

Hmmm – that does seem a little odd. It’s most likely related to the user account permissions. I’d recommend chatting to your friends and asking if your user has full permissions for editing on the site.

OK, I have now moved my site to my server. It seems to have been imported successfully and I notice the screen is blank when I load my site. Which I guess it should be, with no page list any more. However, I am unsure as to how to add a new page list with the “Welcome” page. How exactly do I do this, please?

EDIT: Again, error message is showing “you do not have permission to edit this page”.

I cannot edit the above message again so please ignore.

Despite moving the site to my own host I apparently still do not have editing permission.

The issue now appears to be resolved.

I set up the blog on a different server and presume I now have full admin rights as I was able to delete the Page List and create a new one.
