Yesterday I installed WP-Optimize on our website – and immediately, the fonts changed across the entire site. Bolder versions and in black.
Can anyone advise please if you have seen this before and how to address it?
    Thanks ??

UPDATE: When deactivating the WP-Optimize plugin, the fonts return to normal. (the plugin might be deactivated when you look).

@intecprinters The font issue has been resolved in the latest version, Ccan you please make sure you are using 3.1.11 version?

Thank you for your reply @bornforphp – I have just checked and yes, we are using 3.1.11

If not – first, please make a full site backup.

Then, temporarily revert your theme back to the default WordPress theme (Twenty20) and see if the problem continues. If it is gone, the theme you were using is the cause.

If the issue is still there, try deactivating all plugins except for WP-Optimize and see if it is resolved.

If so, reactivate each plugin one at a time until you find the culprit. You can check for the issue between activating each plugin, so you can see which one is causing problems.

Please let us know your findings.

Thanks again. To be honest, I was hoping this might be a known issue – such as the need to check or uncheck a certain option in the plugin’s settings – and someone would know this and make it know to avoid the experimentation.

I was trying to avoid deactivating the plugins, as we have 31 plugins installed and each one deactivated will have an adverse affect for users currently on the site.
I am not sure either if the settings within each plugin will remain as required in the process?

@intecprinters Can you please disable Minify status from WP-Optimize > Minify and check if it helps to fix the issue?

PERFECT! Thank you @bornforphp that is EXACTLY the direct info I was hoping for. That has done the trick ??

Thank you for resolving the unwanted font change issue @bornforphp. Deactivating Minify within the WP-Optimize settings resolved the problem. Thanks.

I had the same issue with minification preventing Google Fonts from working. Disabling CSS minification fixed the problem. I thought that was a bit extreme, so I experimented with other settings, and found that I could keep CSS minifcation enabled, and on the Minify > CSS tab I could paste the code from Google Fonts into the “Load the following CSS files asynchronously” box:

    https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=Changa+One:ital,wght@0,400&family=Exo:ital,wght@0,400;0;0,400;1;0,500;0;0,500;1;0,700;0,700;1;0,wght@0;1,tal&display=swap

That code is unique to this site; you’ll need to use the code you get from Google Fonts. That fixed the problem.
