• I am having problems with unwanted code appearing in my WordPress blog’s header. When the blog is launched, code appears in the upper right hand corner. My suspicion is this relates to earlier attempts to get Google Analytics running which has left stray code in but not sure of the best way to remove it.

My blog is at the following location:

    inspiral.info

The code is appearing in the upper right hand corner. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the theme but the problem continues to reappear both in this and other themes

Any help you could provide in removing this stray code would be much appreciated

  • The unwanted code is javascript coming from the Add-Meta-Tags plugin. Javascript code should be enclosed by <script> … </script> tags to prevent it being interpreted as page text, but it is not in this case.

I am surprised this has happened because the Add-Meta-Tags plugin is mature software with many happy users. Make sure you are using the latest version, 2.4.3. Check the plugin’s settings. Consider posting your query on the plugin’s forum. Ultimately, you may need to deactivate this plugin if it is not working for you.

I dont think Add-Meta-Tags plugin support Google Analytics code.

Try install another plugin specific for inserting Analytics code ex: Google Analytics for WordPress

Thank you both…I’ve removed the code from the relevant plug in and appearing as it should now.

    Enjoy your weekend
