• Edit:
Files disappeared after hours of waiting. No Autoptimize file existed on server (inspected by FTP), but files did appear in network traffic and were valid – so strange (all diagnostics were performed while bypassing cache in browser development mode).

Will need to keep an eye on this.

    Environment:
    WordPress 6.4.2
    Autoptimize 3.1.10
    WP Super Cache

    Observation / Issue:
Clearing caches for Autoptimize, WP Super Cache, & Nginx does not delete Autoptimize generated JS and CSS files.

    Resolutions Attempted So Far:
Clearing all caches, twice in succession.
Inspecting frontend network traffic using Incognito mode.
    Deactivating Autoptimize.
    Deactivating WP Super Cache.
    Deleting Autoptimize.
    Deleting WP Super Cache.

Must I use FTP to manually delete files generated by Autoptimize?

    Is this a documented issue?
    Is there a known solution?

    Update:
Reinstalling & reactivating WP Super Cache reintroduces the problematic behavior.

I’m uncertain why WP Super Cache holds onto Autoptimize files even after WP Super Cache files are cleared.

hey MindCreatesMeaning; one thing to take into account is that when Autoptimize’s cache is cleared, AO will automatically recreate Autoptimized JS/ CSS for the homepage to ensure the first real request is not significantly slower. Additionally AO “listens” to WPSC’s cache (and other page caches) being cleared and will clear it’s own cache and pre-populate the cache again as well for the same reason.

    hope this clarifies,
