• Hi Ernest Marcinko,
Your plugin allows Adsense to add ads in the menu and footer. Obviously this is unwanted.

I contacted Adsense support, but to no avail and waited months.

Today I did the test to find out which plugin was causing problems and it was yours. In fact, the affected areas were where your shortcode was present!

    Hi,

You can check the source code, there are no ads or anything like that in the plugin. Your site may have been hacked, I strongly recommend checking the files.

Try downloading a fresh copy of the plugin and comparing it to the one on your server to make sure there are no differences. That may help you pinpoint where the issue is.

This plugin is regularly checked for any security issues by 3rd party companies and we take any flaws very seriously.

    All the best,
    Ernest

Your response made me laugh. ?? Obviously your plugin doesn’t add Adsense, but Adsense itself sees the menu and the fotter as zones for advertising.

Please check why this happens with Adsense automatic ads or if you have any conflict with the Site kit plugin.

Oh, okay, I thought you meant that.

My guess is that you might need to try a different container widget type. Try using a shortcode or custom HTML widget to place the search shortcode to.

I guess the adsense auto-ads is trying to find a HTML tag of some sort to inject the ads, I don’t know unfortunately how it works.

Sorry, but I’m serious and it occurs with your shortcode. There is an error that allows Adsense to add ads in the menu and footer. Please correct the error.

How can I help identify the error of advertisements in the footer and header, i.e. where your shortcode is?

Sure. I checked the page source, but I don’t see any relation there, the ads block is placed automatically after the menu block.

After some googling I found that there is an exclude areas in adsense, where you can choose which parts of the website to exclude from automatic ads, that should do the trick.

I know the Adsense exclusion area, but the limit is 100. An extremely low number, as I have a block theme. Each page is custom, I would need more than 1000 exclusions. Can I help in other ways? On 404 pages, the error does not repeat.

In this case you should probably rather use manually ads then. Automatic ads are placed wherever the ads script wants them to, I don’t think there is a way to prevent the injection other than the ads dashboard.

I have no clue what exactly triggers the ads placements, maybe the ads script sees that there is enough page content after adding the plugin shortcode, so it finds the closest suitable block to inject ads into. I could not find any information on how it work or any ways to trigger or prevent that. It is completely up to the adsense script.

    All the best,
    Ernest
