Although I have been adding products to the new site planetsal.co.uk for some time, it is only over the last few days in testing that I see an additional unwanted Shipping Charge at the Checkout.

I have verified that the Multiple Packages for Delivery page is configured correctly for all Shipping Classes – basically all Classes display Local Pickup & then each fixed Class is selected against its Flat Rate.

However, Products in the Checkout that correctly display eg Flat Rate £1 correctly charge £1, but there is also an unwanted checkbox for Flat Rate £1.50 – although that option can be selected it does NOT get charged.

This behaviour is not exhibited for Products with Free Deliver (using zero in Weight Based Class). They display “Free” plus Collect from Shop.

    Can you please help.

I have had to disable the Shipping Class that was causing the problem in order to launch the site.

I would still appreciate a solution for the future when I may need to re-instate it.

I have identified the error :

When creating a Flat Rate Delivery Method, there is a zero prefilled in the first “Cost” field. This needs to be removed if completing the “Delivery class costs” filed by eg a formula to charge poer item.

I did not appreciate this previously as for other Flat Rates I had incorrectly inserted a value to the upper cost field, then deleted the value when I realised I needed to insert a formula in the Class field, thus deleting the first value & leaving the field blank, rather than zero.

This is trivial & therefore annoying.
