    Hello!

Our website uses a variety of plugins to meet its end goals. Included in our usage: Redis Object Cache, WP Rocket, and Uncanny Automator. We specifically use Uncanny Automator to link Events (The Events Calendar) with Courses (LearnDash) to generate certificates for our users when they complete events.

    The problem:
At seemingly random times, when we create an Uncanny Automator for the above interaction, our website will “blow up” where the header menu links will just get listed in full down the page.

The actual header / menu looks like:

How I am able to inconsistently recreate the issue is to simply build an Uncanny Automator Recipe linking attendance to an event with closure of a course for that attendee. Yesterday, after the 4th recipe was created, the site finally blew up. To fix it, I have to flush the object cache. Sometimes I have to clear the WP Rocket cache as well. It seems to be an issue with the Header and Footer, which are built using ElementsKit as the body content generally looks ok.

I am wondering if there is some sort of logging I can enable that might give an indication of where the failure is happening? Or are there other suggestions on what I should investigate related to the object cache that might point me to a permanent fix?

    Kind regards,

    Scott

Hi! It could be the case that Uncanny Automator is not tested/compatible with WordPress’ persistent object caching (like Redis Object Cache supplies).

We recommend asking the Uncanny Automator team for assistance with this. They might be able to tell you a certain cache group to ignore, or can fix the issue in their plugin.

Thank you, Julie, I shared that with them. Be well!

    Hi Julie,

Thank you for the follow up, I’m working with them to see if they will look into it. While the creation of every new recipe doesn’t break the cache, eventually that process will break the cache and break our layout. I’ve shown them this and hoping they will dig in to it. They do clear cache when saving recipes so it seems to me whatever process they’re doing has a hiccup.

In the interim, is there a way I can grant privileges to my Editor role so that they can manually flush the cache when they create recipes? I’d prefer to not make them admins to do this.

    Thanks!

Sorry, we don’t have that ability right now, it’s locked to the manage_options capability.

Thanks for that, I went ahead and granted that role as a short term fix.
