• I was initially excited because Form Maker offers conditional fields, which would really help a person narrow things down in a support form… or so I thought.

The free version of Form Maker is limited to seven fields. SEVEN.

The recaptcha counts as one of them. Good thing I didn’t try to implement GDPR or else I’d have been stuck with five.

What kind of support form, much less a conditional support form, has only six usable fields? Five if you’re in Europe.

Here’s what five fields might look like:
    1. Name
    2. Email
    3. Issue (dropdown with the intention of adding conditionals)
    4. Account Username (form intended for support outside of WordPress)
    5. Order #

    6. GDPR?
    7. Recaptcha?

I haven’t even learned what their issue is in any meaningful detail yet. If you’re going to keep 7 fields a thing, at least make all of the fields informative.

    Looks like my search continues.

[Update:] I switched to Contact Form 7 with the Conditional Fields for Contact Form 7 add-on. It’s not drag-and-drop and the form is about as barebones as they come, but it’s worth the effort to have a functional support form with conditionals.
