Untranslated Strings

Need help with a srings that remain untranslated within a theme.
The theme developer suggests these fields are in .po of the theme. If multilanguage plugin works with .po files, then it should be able to find them in wpresidence.po so and allow translation to a different langauge
Usually translation from English to another language is done through standard POEDIT procedure, but not sure how Polylang handles these.
The questions are:
Does Polylang work with .po files?
If so, why is it not picking these strings (only 5 strings in the entire site)?Appreciate your help.
