You are right, templates that you create in the Site Editor, like the templates in your screenshot, are not HTML files.

To change the margin, you need to open the template in the Site Editor again.
Select the block that you want to remove the margin from, and open the block sidebar. Look for a panel called Dimensions, and then, spacing > margin.
