My site has php version 5.6.40 but it is showing the message:

Shield Security Plugin – Unsupported PHP Version: 5.6.40
Sorry, your website runs an incredibly old version of PHP that Shield Security no longer supports, as of Shield v7.0
Your PHP no longer gets upgrades and it’s difficult to maintain code for.
We recommend that you contact your website hosting provider on how to upgrade to at least PHP v5.4

But my site’s php version is 5.6.40 which is greater than 5.4

This is quite strange and I’m not sure why Shield would display this notice if your PHP version is sufficient.

It might be worth seeing what your options are for upgrading your PHP to version 7.0. We’ve moved Shield to PHP7 since release 10.0 and we only offer in-depth support for our latest version. We’ve ensured that Shield cannot upgrade to a version your PHP doesn’t support, however, but if you want to run the latest Shield version, please consider switching your site’s PHP version to 7.0+.
