Unsubscribed user after having sent confirmation emails

Hi,
I imported a list of new contacts in Audience.
After that, I sent a confirmation request using the “resend confirmation” option.
But I found one of those contacts “unsubscribed” (red dot in Audience list), even if I received a “New email subscription confirmation” on the admin email.
It’s not clear to me what happened. Has the contact opened the email without clicking on the link?
