Noticed the “unsubscribe URL” isn’t grabbed and inserted into emails anymore, using the latest update of fluentCRM(2.6.52), it just shows “##crm_unsubscribe_url##” as the URL when you hover the links, same goes for “##crm_manage_subscription_url##” and nothing opens when you click it.

I tried using the {{crm.unsubscribe_html|Unsubscribe}} tag instead, but this also doesn’t work. It then just shows the {{code/tag}} in the email as plain text, without inserting an actual link. Other smartcodes (like company name and address) are grabbed and work fine.

I tried installing the same (latest) version of fluentCRM in a test environment and the same problem appears in campaign emails sent from there, no working unsubscribe/manage links. I then however downgraded this test environment to the 2.5.8 version (from github https://github.com/FluentCRM/fluent-crm > releases) and with this version, everything works fine again and the unsubscribe/manage links are being inserted into emails again.

So it seems a problem got introduced in the latest update, at least for me both in a new test environment and on a live site.

  • Hi @svenebens,

The “unsubscribe URL” will work for real emails only. If you send a test email then the unsubscribe URL won’t work. This was implemented in the last update.

If you are facing any issues when sending actual emails then please share a screenshot of the email that you have set, so we can have a better understanding of the problem that you are facing.

    Thank you.

Hi @tahmidulkarim thanks for your reply.

I had also opened a ticket on the plugin’s website and we have resolved the issue.
Just writing this here, for if anyone else has a similar “issue”.

It was indeed just a case of the unsubscribe links not showing in the test mails, after some more testing they do indeed show up in actual campaign mails. I misunderstood this as a bug.

The reason I noticed this and thought it was a bug, is because in the older version (2.5.8 at least) the unsubscribe links did also work/were also generated in test mails, therefor I immediately assumed it was broken when I saw plaintext/shortcodes in the test mails instead of the actual link. Downgrading to the older version also verified this behavior where the unsubscribe links did show up again also in the test mails.

It might be smart to list these kind of changes in the changelog for updates, as I did check if there was any change related to the unsubscribe/smart codes in there, but didn’t find any info on this functionality changing (the unsubscribe link now only being generated in actual campaign mails and not in test mails as well).

    Anyways thanks for the support!

We just sent 2 campaigns yesterday for The new year and neither campaign showed the unsucribe footer. We left a support ticket on the fluent support ticket area, but have yet to get a reply:

both campaigns were sent to several hundred people
