I followed the instructions to make custom pages for unsubscribing (confirmation and succes pages). When testing, I see both the text I put in my custom page AND the text that comes from the Mailpoet default page. How do I remove the default text from the Mailpoet default page?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi!

Could you check if you’ve added the shortcode on that page AND you assigned it as the MailPoet default page? It does look as if the content was populated from both the default settings and the shortcode. So in that case you could remove the shortcode and just assign the page in MailPoet -> Settings.

If you can share some screenshots of the settings and the content of the page itself, that would be useful (make sure you’re not sharing sensitive details in those screenshots).

    Please let us know.

    Hi dromero20,
Thanks for your message. I have added the shortcode [mailpoet-page] as required and written in the instruction, and I have selected the pages in de basic settings page at the unsubscribe page section as the confirmation page and success page.
In the instruction (the link to it is in that unsubscribe page section) it says that both is needed, but from what you write that’s not the case?
(just to be sure that I understand you correctly, since my English may not be good enough).
I don’t know how to share screenshots here, so maybe you can also teach me that?
    Thanks!

    Hi there @machteld1972,

For the Confirmation page, you should have a [mailpoet_page] shortcode that adds the default text. If you want to modify this default text, you should use this filter: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/221-customize-your-unsubscribe-page#undefined

For the Success page you can use either [mailpoet_page] or any text you want with this shortcode: [mailpoet_manage text=”Manage your subscription”]

I recommend https://snipboard.io/ for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL in your reply. Please make sure not to post screenshots with sensitive or personal data.

    Cheers!

    Hi there,
Up till now I have not had (or taken..) the time to try the suggestions I was given. So, I don’t know whether the issue is resolved.
I expect to work on it in the coming two weeks.
