Direct unsubscribe links in the notification emails is not possible in this free version of Subscribe2, but you can link back to the page on your site that handles subscription and unsubscription requests.

Your other option is the paid version, Subscribe2 HTML, which does allow direct unsubscription links in the notification emails.

Ok thanks, if not swapping to the paid version how exactly do we link back to a page in the free version?

From memory I think there was a {BLOGLINK} keyword – if so is that what you are referring to? And where is it set? I looked before I posted but couldn’t find it.

It depends if you are using permalinks and the structure but you can link back with something like this in your email template:

You can manage your email notification settings at:
{BLOGLINK}/subscribe/

Where subscribe is the slug name of the page that handles your subscriptions. It could equally be something like ?p=123.

I am looking for this too but I am confused as I only want to use Blog Subscribers (Contributors) to have sent a notification.

Which page should than be about a subscriptions managing? Some shortcode or how?

And than I am not sure if automatically new users are subscribers to notification or do I have to add them ( As I had to do with current users)

I would be happy about some clarity about this ;o)

I have found the shortcode but unsubscribing is not possible.
I block my wp to backend of the site. So even if the user is logged out and put his email address to unsubscribe, he will see than the link to login (which leads not to backend on my site)

Subscribers who have accounts in WordPress need access to the admin area to manage their subscription. I don’t understand why admin access to WordPress is blocked when access to specific pages in there can be managed easily (with plugins if needed).

I just dont let my users to backend as many are not confirm with that. To be specifically I use a tool to just send a post via form only as text, thats all. To thou have them as wp user is for many reasons practically for me ;o)

What a pity that there is no possible just to unsubscribe without managing this in backend ;(

If the users have to be registered with WordPress then in order to unsubscribe they need access to the admin area.

You could use Public subscriber option that allows subscribers to enter their email on a front facing for to subscribe and unsubscribe.
